Hello to all,

Noob here with a first time post (and this site is awesome btw).
I'm quite the rookie here when it comes to it and would appreciate some help in figuring out a problem I"m having...

I have an NEC 3520 DVD RW Burner and a panasonic DVD s35 player. I have downloaded a couple of tv shows and prefer to burn them to a DVD and watch them in the family room. I use DVD Santa along with Nero on occasion for my burning process. Converting files from .avi/xvid/divx and then burning to DVD and watching on the Panasonic is not a problem. But when it comes to files already in a TS folder, everytime I try to burn with either DVD Santa or Nero, my panasonic DVD will have a (hmmm how to describe it) a grey/black &white picture with the screen constantly scrolling...pretty much unwatchable...but the audio is there and the menu functionality is there as well. The actual DVD plays fine on my computer. Would you assume that the Panasonic is the fault here? Could it be I have a PAL version when I'm on the NTSC standard? Or should I be looking for a firmware update for my DVD player. I'm burning onto Sony DVD+RW's btw...

Yes, it does sound like you are trying to play PAL Video on a NTSC DVD Player/TV Set....

You should check the Video_TS folders before you Burn them to see if they are PAL or NTSC so you don"t waste any Disks.....

How can you verify if the TS folder is in a PAL or NTSC format?

Well I can Personally tell from the Resolution because PAL Video has a Much Higher Vertical resolution than NTSC but this will probably not help you.....

Let me think, Ummm...Well if you Loaded one of the VOB files into "Virtual-Dub-Mpeg-2" and then went to "File" to "File Information" it would list all of the Properties of the Video Like it"s resolution and Frame rate and PAL Video has a 720+576 Resolution and a 25fps Frame rate and NTSC has a 720+480 and a 29.976fps frame Rate....
