How do I set up my ps2 and my pc through a router. Its a linksys and the way I have it set up is the dsl modem itself is connected to the wan port and the pc and the ps2 are both connected to the lan ports. Can somebody please tell me how to configure my ps2 and pc to the router. The router is wired not wireless.

Check out these two guides:

http://www.mikestyle.com/tutorials/exploit.htm
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/122897

Your router assigns DHCP addresses in the range of 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.149. So in the CONFIG.DAT for ExecFTPs you need to change it to:

192.168.1.xxx 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1

And substitute in a good value for xxx. You don't want to put 100, or 101, since your PCs probably use those numbers. I use 192.168.1.110, which seems to work fine.

After that setting is complete you can use FlashFXP to connect to execftps. Set the same settings for hdl_dump server and it should work accordingly. If its not working out, re-read the mikestyle tutorial (just the relevant parts) and make sure all your config files are there and in the right place.

Oh thats very easy. Just plug your PS2 into one of the router's LAN ports like you would a regular computer, put your Network Adapter Setup Disc into the PS2 and follow the onscreen instructions.

did you get it figured out?

i got a linksys router too .. this little blue square looking thing, works great .. i play online while the wife uses the computer ... i got 2 ps2s and 1 pc on it hehe its loads of fun.

its pretty self explanatory to plug in/ connect. dunno why you might have trouble... Internetline -> Modem -> Router -> pc/ps2

(make sure you got those ethernet cables )

hi guys, i have a similar problem as the guy trying to connect online the web while playing the ps2 online at the same time. This thing i sgetting really frustrating for me and i tried follwing the instructions you guys have put before but i havent gotten anything. Im hoping you guys can help me out, maybe with steps on each ethernet cable and where it needs to be connected. Thats my main problem , where each ethernet cable needs to go. Im going to write a list of the things i have ::

ok i have the ps2 with the network adapter, i have a Netgear ethernet switch ( which has like 5 ports for me to connect ethernet cables (duh)) , then i have my cable modem , and i also have a 100 foot ethernet cable which travels from my ethernet switch alkl the way to my living room wheere my ps 2 is..

Now this is the way i tried configuring it and nothing happened.

1. In the first port of the ethernet switch i have the ethernet wire of the cable modem connecting to the cable modem.

2. In the second port i have the 100 foot ethernet cable, connecting all the way to my ps2 in my living room.

3. today i bought a belkin networking cable (snagless patch cable?) Cat5E 3 feet,( is this the right ethernet cable for what i want to do?), anyways i have this belkin ethernet cable connected to the third port in my ethernet switch connected to my pc??

WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING WRONG,,, JEESH, IT FRUSTRATING, Ive tried millions of combinations (maybe 3) and nothing, one works but never the other, never both at the same time..

if someone can tell me where these cables need to go, or if im using the right equipment, please let me know, in the simplest terms possible please because i usually dont understand the explannations here, too dificult at times. Im a newbie , sorry, but ive looked on google and in here, but nothinng really helped me out...

if you guys cn help me out id really appreciate it guyss....

thanks alot , ill reply lightening fast...
