I have Xbox v1.0
Spider Chip from Dec 2004

My Old Xbox (v1.6) worked great with the spider chip for 8 months, then my Xbox died. I bought a new used Xbox today (v 1.0 ) and installed the Spider Chip. When I boot with the chip off I get the normal boot up. When I boot with the chip on I get the EVOX logo in the upper left, meaning my mod chip is active... But then the Xbox won't boot my Slayer 2.6 CD, it just goes into the standard XBox thing, and won't recognize my Slayer CD .... In other words, the spider bios seems to work, but it doesn't let me play "unauthorized" CDs. (I'm trying to install XBMC.)

Is the Spider bios wrong for this machine? I put M8plus_16.binn on it back in Dec, but is that only for XBox v 1.6 or something?? Do I need to reflash the Spider bios? How do I do that?

Thanks for any help!

I figured it out!

I had to download Spiderchip Reflash Cd.iso -- I burned that ISO, the machine booted that, I upgraded the bios,a nd now it all works!

Thanks anyways everyone! The info is hard to dig through sometimes!
