Ok, I'm new, so bare with me....I did all the steps for encoding a 16:9 movie. I Ripped the VOB files, created a DVD2AVI project, did the VFAPI Convert to make the .d2v a pseudo-AVI, used the bitrate calculator to get the right bitrate, converted the audio with CDex, and did the 2-Pass (first and second pass).

MY PROBLEM IS: I now have two files that say (I'm backing up the movie Blade by the way) Blade(firstpass) and Blade(secondPass)

MY QUESTION: I thought I was supposed to have one AVI...why don't I?
AND
Neither the First or Second pass of the movie actually plays the movie...and if it did, one would only have the First pass filters and the other would have the Second pass filters....So what do I do?

Did you use DivX 4.12 or DivX 5.0? The first pass just scans through the video stream and doesn't do any encoding at all. It just saves some information on the frames for the second pass. So yeah, you should have just one (proper) video file - the second pass file.

Can't really think of what might have gone wrong.. I'll keep thinking.. =)

yah, I used DivX 5.0
I don't know what happened, I followed the directions to the letter, the only thing I thought was that when I saved the file to the job list, I made a new file, and I didn't touch the movie that I made...so I had a movie that was (firstpass), one that was (Secondpass) and then the pseudo-AVI....and I thought I was supposed to have one AVI not three different things

Try doing just one pass and see what happens.
