I just got a new PS2 Model NO. scph-70012 (the New Slimline) & was wantting to know the best mod chip for it. One more thing with these mod chip's you don't got to have no typ of boot dics just put it in and play right? And can you play online with it just using the backup's.

Thanks,
Nascar40

the dms4 pro and lite are good with the slim and the matrix infinity too. get one of these chips. don't be cheap, its not worth it.

it does boot directly, no swapping, put the disc in and play.

the slims need a laser fix so make sure you get that. otherwise you will only have a few days, maybe even hours before thats it w/ the laser.

you have to patch games to play backups online. you can't play backups online without the patch.

dumbo: don't know about the apple 7 and the slim.

The new revised slimline known as V13, you do not need a laser fix for it.

No, its black. The warranty sticker is on the bottom of the console, but you still will need to verify by looking at the motherboard.
