I'm thinking about getting a qoob pro. So I was on the qoob pro website and it said their bios does not support booting of backups. So i was wondering how do I boot backups on the qoob pro. Plus i saw on a website it said no solder needed for the qoob is this true? Also is direct booting like you dont have to swap you just put in a backup and it works? Plus can i use a diffrent bios for the qoob pro or not? If i cant whats the best chip to get for my cube that boots backups without swapping?
Thanks in Advance.

You would need to flash the mod chip with a different BIOS so you would be able to load burned dvd's
I personnaly use the VIPER GC and it was stupidly easy to install, just 4 wires, unlike the qoob which is 6 or 7 I believe (not sure, never done the install for a qoob)
not sure about the no install though
Yes Direct Boot means so swapping of the discs

if you look at manuales at qoobs webbsite, you see were to solder. And it says on the site no soler on the chip.
ansvers to question:
1. Just google around for diffrent bios, its not hard to find (1.3c is the newest one).
2.Just solders on the cube not on the chip. (i think its 5 wires to solder).
3.yes, works fine, but you got to use DVD-R or mini DVD-R because DVD+R doesnt support direct boot.
4.it think that you only can use qoob bios for the qoob chips, i have never tryed whit diffrent bios like cobra on qoob.
5.Qoob pro and Viper is wery simlar to each other, the only big diffrens ar that qoob pro got 16mbit flash and i dont know how much viper got but i know that qoob pro got more.
qoob is wery easy to install if you know how to solder but its the same with viper to.
I use qoob pro and it works fine :D

Is'nt DVD+R same as DVD-R except DVD+R is somekind that it can be burned to be DVD-R or something...

its diffrent from cube to cube but verbatim DVD-R (full size) works really good for me :D.
And if you got an dvd disk that doesnt work, try an other one insted of laser tweakning.

Capn8bit,
Sorry to say but my QOOB PRO will read DVD +R. So it all depends on the age and strength of the Cube
