after burning GOW the laser in my ps2 seems to be moving back and forth really fast.I'm not sure if i did something wrong when i burned the game or if its the disc. All other games play just fine. Can anyone answer this question for me please??
It's probably just having a hard time finding the files you burned. My boss has a slimline with a clear case and you can see the laser jump around the different sectors. For the games that it can't read, it would also seek back and forth very quickly.
Try burning GOW again, just do it in 1x. It takes a while, but it's worth it. What are you using to burn your backups anyways?
The burner is a Micro-Advantage dual format burner....was given to me so i cant complain...but i have never had any problems like this before....using verbatim media to burn with also
GOW needs to be patched... Are you making a straight up copy of it, or did you burn a patched copy. Also, i ment to say what software are you using to burn your backups.
I think the SONIX tool used in that backup discussion is so that you can fit GOW on a single layer DVD or a DVD-5. There is another option that you could do that involves way way less work.
There is something called a the Toxic Dual Layer Patcher available here at the psx forum http://forums.psxforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=27443 Basically, GOW is a dual layer game right, this patcher will make it to where your ps2 can read both layers.
You need to make an image of your game with DVD Decrypter and then patch it with the Dual Layer Patcher. Go back to DVD Decrypter when you are done patching and burn. And, your done.
The only catch is that you need a dual layer burner to use this. This method is more than worth it. The patching process takes only a matter of seconds, 10 max. If you don't have a dual layer burner, you might want to look into HDLoader. Then you can totally skip all the burning BS and just load the games with your comptuer onto the hard drive, but that is another discusssion.
