I have a DIVX movie and the sound is ok at the beginning of the movie, but later the sound is not matching the video cca 1second. How can I fix that? Thank you, and sorry about the bad english.

There are many reasons.
One can be that the movie it started was not in-sync.
The movie could be somewhat corrupt.
Many reasons are linked to AVI --> MPG conversion and an AVI which has a badly encoded sound, so they don't deal with AVI, because , in the case, the A/V of that AVI is in sync.
Let's start with the simplest check:
1) open the movie with VirtualDub
2) set Audio___Full Processing Mode
3) do File____Save WAV.

If the WAV is about 10.1 MB x length (in minutes; 1200 MB for a 2h movie) and Exact AudioCopy (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/) , making Tools__Process WAV, does not give warnings, the movie is not corrupt.

Post here your result.

If it is in sync at the start then you would need to cut before it goes out of sync then adjust the second half so that it is in sync.

I can only suppose the movie is a join of 2 parts, and that the 1st part was good (A/V sync), the 2nd part was not.

Therefore:

1) cut the movie with VirtualDub (Video/Audio=Direct Stream Copy; Select Range) . One part will have A/V in sync, and the other hase audio = -1s than the video.
2) open the 2nd part with VirtualDub, set Audio__Full Processing and save the audio od the 2nd part.
3) convert it to MP3 with HeadAC3he selecting 'Destination format:' MP3 and set the 'Options' (click the key twice): Alt CBR + CBR and a bitrate of aboyt 128-160 kbps (the choice of the CBR compression is IMPORTANT). Adjust, in the main screen the 'delay' (in ms: find the right number 'by ear') so the audio is in sync with the video.
4) substitute the former audio stream with the new one opening the AVi with VirtualDubMod.
1) set Video___Direct Stream Copy.
2) do Stream___Stream List --> Disable the former, Add the new one.
3) Save AVI (F7)

Do some 'A/V check' and make steps 3) and 4) again, if the delay must be put differently.

OK now?
