Hi,

Just recently all the videos I play on the pc start to jerk and play choppy every few minutes, which did not use happen before. I have not done anything major on the PC to cause this. Its like when the PC does not have enough memory, but like i said this has not happned before. I have a 3.4ghz pro. with a 1gb of ram, so it can't be that.

Does anyone have any ideas? Codecs problem?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply,

I think my graphics card is still good, its a geforce 6600. So I don't think its that. I noticed that does it the most when i'm on the internet so it could be my firewall which is Zone Alarm. What do you think?

Hey,
I'm having the same problem, and I've been scouring the Internet for help. Video always played just fine, but suddenly one day, the video parts of my files started to jerk, hesitate, jump, though the audio portion kept on just fine. I have a fairly new computer, with plenty of ram, so that is not the problem. I have also checked my codecs with G-spot, and they are fine. This problem occurs with all players, and even effects my DVD playback, which will not work at all.

Please help if you can!!

Another thing,
I may be imagining things, but Ad-Aware seems to be working more slowly as well. I have acquired Norton Anti-virus and run many other utilities to clean uo the registry and search for intrusions since this problem first started. Hijack this seems to find nothing out of the ordinary either, though I'm no expert.

Several things can cause such problems like yours, but I definitely got rid of jerky playback of all video formats, when I installed ReClock direct show filter: http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=ReClock_Directshow_Filter
