hello im having trouble getting my games to load from the hard drive with magic swap 3.6 i have alcohol 120% and am using a maxtor 120 gig hard drive with an hard drive enclosure as i have the new slim ps2.i dont know if i dont have it formatted right or im not using alc120% right.i know the alc. works as i burned a cd game and it loaded just fine with the magic swap. the game i placed on the hard drive shows it as two types mdf file that is big and a mds file that is small.just trying out with one game to figure this out.i put this in a file named magicswap and renamed the game as swapmagic.elf like what it says on the swap magic site.but all i get is one flash from the hard drive then back to swap magic screen.

You need to get USBEXTREME from http://www.ps2nfo.com/usbfaq.html

and the USB Advance tool for copying games to the harddrive.

I'm just going to cut and paste the rest from another thread. Thanks go out to the author ; )

Steps to follow:

1. Format your Harddisk in NTFS.
2. Start up USB extreme. Go to the tab Disk Format and reformat the Harddisk. Close the USB Extreme.
3. Create a directory SWAPMAGIC on the Harddisk.
4. Burn the USB Advance on a CD using Nero.
5. Copy the files of the CD to the harddisk in the directory SWAPMAGIC. Rename the *.ELF file to SWAPMAGIC.ELF. This is to make sure that the system starts up and goes to the Harddisk.
6. Now start the USB Extreme. Go to the games installer tab. Select the correct DVD/CD drive. Select the media type and your USB harddisk. Give the game a name and press start. It could take upto 30 minutes to read the game. When finished press OK.
Close the USB Extreme programm.
7. Make sure you disconnect your USB drive properly by stopping it within Windows.
8. Connect your USB HS to your PSTwo and put the SWAPMAGIC dvd in.
9. The SWAPMAGIC starts and after it USB Advance starts. Select your game press right and press X when you are on PLAY.

Regards

P.s. Another quick tip is to goto the hardrive properties by left clicking on it under windows, goto hardware, then properties again, select policies and enable disk caching. This will speed up your drive considerably during transfer to from the PC.

Read The Guide - http://www.ps2nfo.com/usbfaq.html

If you can't find the files, find someone who does and PM and ask them Nicely If they'll give them to you.
