ok so I have decided to go pick up a ps2 slimline and already own the ps2 swap magic 3.6 software. is it possible to mod the ps2 without having tools a, b and c so that the system will play backed up games

ya most modchips dont need tools , you only need tools to mod your chip like a soldering iron.

He means tools to get the swap magic to work, yes you will need one of the devices such as a magic switch, etc
