Hey all,

I picked up the Radioshack component selector with my newly purchased LCD figuring I would need the extra ports. The selector seemed to be working until I noticed that it kind of "conks out" when there is a lot of bright colors on the screen. Pictures say a thousand words, and I'm sure this short video explains better than I can.

The problem occurs not only with the DVD player, but with the HD cable box, and my Xbox. I have tried different cables, different arrangements and today I returned it for another box without any remedy of the problem. I'm thinking this might just be a faulty product in general, not capable of higher bandwidth?

If this is the case, any ideas in the 70-100 dollar price range. I might spring for the Pelican Pro, does anyone suggest this one or differently?

Your help is much appreciated.

If your devices are outputing HD and/or progressive scan signals, keep in mind that not all component selectors support signals higher than 480i. You may have to spend more money for a good one. I like the 1154A Component Video AutoSelector myself.

I also have the Audio Authority switcher & it's flawless..

If you are on a budget get a composite video switcher that uses manual operation (push the button on the unit yourself!). These can be had for 20 bucks or less & they pass all the signal as well.

As far as hookup goes you have red/white/yellow on the switcher so use the same hookup on both in and out and it will work just fine, trust me.
