It should be, but is it permissible to use blank media that is rated at the "8x" speed in a "4x" burner? The 8x packaging always says, "burning speeds up to 8x." So that should translate to them being able to work in a slower drive... right?

I keep coming across GREAT deals for the 8x media that is actually better than the pricing I've found for the 4x. Plus it seems to be getting harder to find the 4x speed.

What are the findings and experiences with you, the users, in this matter?

Thanks!
