Hi. I've recently downloaded some PS2 games on my PC. I've tryed to burn them but they don't seem to work. I've burned over 20 cds and DVDs and i can't do a thing. Please help me with that.
So i have some.rar, .zip and .ace files for some games and other ones come as.iso, .nrg .
So i need your advice and STEP by STEP HELP on WHAT TO DO WITH THAT FILES when i have them on my harddrive..
I'll write files i have for one game after they've been unzipped or the way they came ..So please write what should i do with them. It dosen't matter if i burn them to a CD or a DVD i don't care as long as they work. Thank you..
Combination od files in one folder ( game folder)
* - stands for a file name
1.) *.ccd, *.cue , *.img, *.sub
2.) *.nrg (one file)
3.) *.iso (one file)
4.) numerous files with extension *.001, *.002,*.003 etc, up to *.035
What shoul i do with those files or how to record them?
5.) *.mdf, *.mds (only two files here)

So i have this 5 type combination of files. I have a bout 14 games on my PC and i didn't get to burn a single one. I tryed to read my way out but failed. So please explain it to me simple way and please write it step by step and mention software i need. So i need your help badly. Thank you for your effort and time you used to help me out. I hope i'll be able to repay you this favour.

Sincerely yours, General_Marshall!

ok, the files that are named .img/.iso/.nrg/ are all different forms of of cd/dvd images and .rar/.zip files are just files that have been compressed in the different formats. All are pretty easy to burn... Just get DVD Decrypter from here at Afterdawn. If you need help burning anything with that software, there are tons of guides on the site. I recommend burning at 1x.

.cue files are files that say how an .iso should be burned, as in order that files should be burned (someone correct me if i'm wrong) and .mdf/.mds files are sorta the same thing, they are just created after making an image for some reason. I've never had to mess with those files so i wouldn't worry about them.

The .001-.whatever files are just files that are in most ps2 games. You are probably seeing those from a game that is already unzipped. If you "aquired" a game that is in an unzipped format, you can turn it into an .iso with a program called ISOBuster and burn with DVD Decrypter.

You might run into images that are saved as .bin/.cue in those cases, you need the .cue file to burn. Again, DVD Decrypter should handle be able to handle it.

A personal experiance burning downloaded games... I had gotten like 5 import games online, all beatmania, and i wasted a ton of dvds trying to get them to work on my ps2 chipped with a matrix infinity. Not a single one worked. Soon after, i decided to toy with HDLoader for the hell of if, and loaded up my import backups with the pc. The games worked absolutely perfect. All my burns were on good DVD-R media and the works and nothing... Why, i have no idea. If your games don't work, don't be too surprised.

Good luck man, keep us posted on your progress.

Thanks for your help, i'll try to do it later on (as i have some other things taking 90% of processor),and i'll be sure to write about it. Just f you see this before, tell me how can make .iso file with *.001,*.002,*.003 etc, with that bunch of files using isobuster? And what is needed to burn a CD/DVD with DVD Decrypter!
Thanks alot!

Sincerely yours, General_Marshall!

When you burn the .001-.whatever files, they should have came in a archive. Pretty much whatever files came with those, you have to burn together. Those might include a system file, a speed dial file, a SLUS file; stuff like that. I havn't used iso buster because i never came across files that i needed to put together on my own.

If you have the .001-.whatever files in an archive or zip or something, just use DVD Decrypter to burn the whole archive. It will be converted into dvd format on its own. DVD Decrypter is very easy to use, but kinda hard to explain. You need to look at a guide to understand how it works. Decrypter is a dual purpose tool. You can make ISOs of DVDs to your computer or you can burn images to DVD.

The guides for decrypter are all basically guides for backing up movies and things, but the priciples(sp?) are still the same. I'm pretty sure that what you have in your hands is an archive of a ps2 game. When you archive a cd or dvd, you take all the files in the disc and put them into on big file with a tool like DVD Decrypter. It is easier to transfer 1 large file than it is to transfer a shit load of small ones like the files that are in a ps2 game per se. If you downloaded this backup ps2 game, i highly doubt it is uncompressed.

Like i said before, look at a guide, they are highly informative.
