Dear all,

Am trying to copy a DVD double layer movie using the method described in the below thread. Am able to get to the CloneDVD2 part but it always hangs at 85% (I have tried twice).

http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/full_dvd_to_dvdr_with_clo...

I also have AnyDVD running in the background.

Thanks for your help in advance.

I have CloneDVD but have not used it for dual layer back up, mainly because all I want is a direct copy and there is no need to encode the movie. I have found that the program that works the best for dual layer backup is the free program DVD Decrypter. If you do not have it go here

http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_...

Just use Decrypter in iso read then iso write mode. It will make a 1.1 copy. Decrytper is the program that I found handles the layer break on the movie well. Here is a guide for using the program

Does the abovementioned method in the adobe document includes the extras in the movie? Reason I am asking is that by following the steps, at DVDShrink I only see Title1 for the Main movie, there are no extras. But the original DVD that I am trying to rip does have extras.

These guides so how to copy the movie only. If you want the full movie in Decrypter where the guide says movie + ifo click on 'all' instead. You can then use clone or shrink to compress the movie to fit to a single layer dvd.
If you copying to a blank dual layer disc use the links arniebear gave above.

Dudes, need another help. I succeeded previously for first movie using your method.

However for this other movie, when I get to the re-authoring part in DVDShrink, there were only the following parts. I tried going through all of them and could not find the main movie (those 2 under "Main Movie" were also not the main movie).

So I went back to the output of the DVDdecrypter to see whether there has been any main movie VOB in the first place, and they were all there properly.

Any idea what is wrong? Why can't DVDShrink see the main movie?
