Are you using a trial version of Nero? If so, has the trial period expired?

RE: for Nero, thats a pretty f*cking weird way of a trial period ending...
i agree with aabbccdd, the media you are using could be crap, but sometimes it could just be the burner itself...
make sure your drivers are up to date and working...
i know that i have an external 8X DVD Dual layer burner, that when i did a system restore the USB drivers f*cked up and i had to find new ones cause although it said it would/was burn/ing at 8X it took as long as if it was burning at 0.2X...

hello, thanks for the suggestion, the type of discs I use are either veribatim, tdk, sony, or fuji-film discs and their all rated at capable of 8 speed, in the past I've been burning at 4.0 with no problems and the other day while playing a game at real arcade my computer froze and I ended up unplugging the computer to get out of the game and when the next I tryed burning a movie thats when I noticed the burn speed was stuck on 2.4. Any suggestions would be a great help. thank you

At the end of a Nero trial period, it will still work but it will burn at the slowest speed possible. That is why I asked if it was a Nero trial version.

Check and make sure your DMA is still enabled for your drive.
