Transitions in Creating a Movie in NeroVision Express 2

I am in the process of creating a movie/DVD of my daughter's wedding. When applying transitions between scenes, sometimes the transition works and sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't show up, the duration has 00:00:00.03. I right click on the transition for properties and try to adjust the duration, but the transition still does not work. Any suggestions. (I'm new at all of this, so I'm sure it is something simple.) Thanks for any suggestions!
