I am a new member, so I am sure that this problem has been discussed; Sometimes when I have converted an AVI to a MPEG, during playback on a REAL player or Windows Media Player, a very small grid of nine boxes is seen fluttering or flashing about the screen. I would like to be able to remove this with some setting when converting from the AVI to MPEG. When using a better player such as NERO showtime, this very small box of boxes is not shown. Thanks in advance.

You may try use a different converting program, or just stick with Nero Show Time for viewing.

I would like to be able to view videos on my phone without this annoying problem; the player on my phone is a realplayer, and if I could update the player on my phone, I would. Anyway, I would be interested to know what that little box of boxes is, what it is called, and why does it show up. Again, it is very small and it flutters around the center view. Thanks in advance.

I did some more research and I believe what I am seeing during playback after converting to an mpeg using TMPEG is a Elecard/Moonlight Mpeg-Decoder flag from Nimo's codec pack. I would like to know if there is a way to filter it out during the conversion from AVI to Mpeg so that I can playback on Windows media player without it showing up. Thanks.

Are you kidding? Do they do that?????????? *_*
Anyway, if realplayer is what you're stuck with, why not convert the AVI into rm or rmvb?
But whatever, may I suggest:
1) Download and install K-Lite codec Pack (full or mega version), and get rid of the Nimo codec Pack, and/or
2) Use something like Power Video Converter, X Video Converter, or Winavi to convert the AVI into mpeg or rm/rmvb.
Good luck!
