Ok, So here is what I got.

I have 15 mini camcorder DVD-R (1.4GB) discs, and I want to back them up to the big DVD-R (4.7GB) Discs. So 2-3 mini disc videos should be able to fit onto a 1 big disc.

I am a newbie so this is how I started out. I first used ULead DVD MOvie Factory 4.0 and I chose to just copy the Camcorder DVD-R's to image files, and then later put all the image files together in one disc. So here is what happened for some reason. When the copying began, 1-40% went by fast, like in less than 5 minutes. But for some reason, when it hit 41%, it started to go super slow. It's already been around 2.5 hours, and it actually hit 42%.

So for some reason, something is happening in the middle of copying, and screwing it all up. I've also tried using ISOBuster to extract the VIDEO files, but the SAME thing happens.. it goes fast, but then stops.

So maybe I'm doing everything wrong. Can some well-experienced camcorder dvd-r "back uper" tell me how I should back up my camcorder discs?

You can not Burn Multiple Image files to the same DVD....

To do what you want to do I suggest that you Rip each MiniDVD to your Hard Drive as a Single Big VOB file useing something like DVD Decryptor or SmartRipper (Both have options to rip to Hard Drive DVD"s as a Single Big VOB file as Opposed to a Bunch of Small VOB files)....

Once you have each MiniDVD ripped to your Hard Drive as Singkle VOB files you just Import each VOB file into your DVD authoring program (DVD Movie Factory??) and make a Main Menu were you can select which File you want to watch and add chapters it you want and author them to DVD.....

It is Not very Hard, The Most Difficult Part is working with a Bunch of small VOB files but ripping as a Single VOB file solves that problem.....

Good Luck

aight thanks for the information, but now I found a new problem.

When I use Decryptor with my mini camcorder DVD-R's, depending on the which disc I use, two things can happen to me.

1. I'm guessing I put in "the perfect" disc, All the VOB files are "extracted" onto the hard drive, succesfully. But unfortunately, that rarely happens.

2. And if I use a different disc, It reaches a certain VOB file (let's say 1 GB long), and it is reading it fine with good speed, but then IT HAPPENS. :( It reaches a certain point while reading the VOB file (Let's say 418GB), and the reading just stops(in DVD Decryptor, you can see because the reading speed rate just drops to 0 kbs/sec) ... And it keeps retrying and retrying with no success.

So how can I fix what is happening to my Decryptor.

Is there a program where if it can't read a certain sector of the VOB file , can it just ignore it, or replace it with a blank screen?

Or maybe, there is some driver problems, which I highly doubt because I just updated my firmware/driver using drvupdate.com .

I've noticed the same pattern occurs with all my other programs including ISO Buster, and DVD MOvie factory (it reaches a certain point, and the reading just stops).

Please help me with this problem, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Well this Problem is indicitive of Burn Errors on the DVD Disk which is very Common with Burnable DVD Media.....Did you enable the "Ignore read errors" in the DVD Decryptor settings?? It is under the "I/O" tab ......

if that don"t work Try copying the files off of the Disk without useing a DVD ripping program and if you still have Problems getting the files off of the DVD then I suggest you try a program Like "BadCopy Pro" or "DVD X Rescue" which are for Recovering Data off of Damaged DVD/CD Media...

Good Luck
