I'm using TY's printable DVD's and I've never had a problem after about 300-400 discs, but in the last 100pk I've had 3 bad discs already and I barely used maybe 20 of them. One movie was skipping in the beginning, one froze at the end (i have my preferences to 4300MB for the size), and one movie had blotches throughout it. Is there better media out there now? Is TY going bad?

I bought them from supermediastore and they have the TG000001 around the hub, so I'm almost positive they are TY's

due to more than one section of log your serial number is repeated thru the log, edit them out and i'll work on the last section of log....

the atapi drivers aren't loaded correctly, try bbmayo's fix here - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm (God i must recommend this at least 10 times a night, bbmayo oshould get paid by hits to that link lol). if that doesn't sort the drivers, try this way (same difference but hey, why not beat the drivers into submission) -

Run REGEDIT. Go to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96A-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

It has subkeys like 0000, 0001, 0002, etc. Normally 0001 is the primary IDE channel, 0002 the secondary, but other numbers can occur under certain circumstances. You have to go through these subkeys and check the DriverDesc value until you find the proper IDE channel.

Delete MasterIdDataChecksum or SlaveIdDataChecksum, depending on whether the device in question is attached as master or slave, but it can't actually hurt to delete both. Reboot. The drive DMA capabilities will be redetected.

Open Device Manager again and check whether the device is now actually using DMA mode. If so, congratulations, you've made it (at least until the next time Windows disables DMA).

Sorry about your buddy Creaky....Anyways thanks for the help on this Nero log..evrything you told me about it works, but I some things I can't figure out like:

Run REGEDIT. Go to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96A-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

This was confusing to me.

I also downloaded the BS0S, but am ot sure if it is currently working. I'm new to this report, but thanks for the help

no worries. i'll probably get slapped by a mod for intervening but hey :)

right.. there's bbmayo's way of fixing the DMA drivers in the one link, and sometimes i've had ppl whose drivers are a bit stubborn so in those cases i recommend the (scary) regedit way. they're the same difference execept the regedit way is more dangerous cus it's easy to damage the registry by messing with the wrong registry 'keys'. i myself don't worry about the specifics of what it's doing as it just works :)

just do a 'simulation burn' to test it, that way you won't waste a disc, it'll just ask for a blank disc to go thru the motions with, then you'll have another section of logfile to paste. paste it up and we can see what's left to tweak..
