hi i want to be able to backup my games. i have been reading here on the forums for a few hours now and still have a few questions. please help..
first of all i have a slim ps2, and i have been reading that a fliptop is recommended with the newest swap magic. will installing a fliptop on a slim ps2 void my warranty?
i know there are methods other then a flip top, are they recommended? ive also read something about using tape or something, whats that about?
also is there any way to do it without buying any additional hardware since the slim ps2 is already a flip top?
thanks for any help

no, you have to modify your PSTwo
The reason for this is because the flip top it comes with
is just like an eject button on the old one.
It resets the PSTwo when you open it. That will not
allow you to swap for a back up disc.
i am not sure if a flip top will void the warrenty
But i don't think it would
you could get a slimtool instead and install it.
Swap Magic is a must unless you get a mod chip installed
there's a tape mod and a straw mod but i don't know much about
them. But i know most people don't do it that way.

what help is left to give? you need to either buy a modchip/Swap Magic/a fliptop, or combination thereof. good luck. :D

using the flip top method requires you to screw open the top part, or skin what have you, will it void your warranty? of course, you're opening your ps2...
think of it this way, see that sticker in the back? peel that off or tamper with it and poof, goodbye warranty
if that's not what you want then the best possible option is the slide card/swap magic combo.
and i've never seen the slim ps2 since it came out but i'm pretty sure it does not come with a flip top, otherwise what's the point in changing skins
hope this helps in anyway

yeah it has a flip top, but i guess it resets when you open it. so because of that the slide card wont work with it

so you should try a ghost kit, then. you wouldn't have to install a new fliptop that way.

Yes i agree.
Magicswitch,Ghostswitch, or slimtool is the
way you want to go if you are affarid of the whole
warranty issue. One of those and Swap Magic will work just
fine for playing your back ups.
