I recently bought an Optorite DD1603 DVD burner. The dvd burner came with nero. At first, the burning went fine and the movies played fine in all of my dvd players, but recently, the movies freeze during playback and wont play anymore. I don't know if the problem is the transcoding, the burning, or my dvd burner.

how about giving us the full list of details like:

pc stats?
programs used ?(for conversion/burning etc)
any errors recieved?
You mention Nero? can you provide a log?
media you use?
Is the burner had the firmware upgraded? or not?
Have you changed anything on your pc from the time the dvds were playing fine to when they started skipping?
Anything else you think we might need to know so that we can help you sort this?

Sorry about not including any info, i was in a rush when i wrote that. Anyways, i have a Dell dimension 4550 (Mircrosoft windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 Version 2002, Pentium 4 processor 2.40GHz 2.39 GHz,512MB of Ram), the program i use to both make the dvds and burn them is nero, i use avi files, I upraged the firmware like a week ago while attempting to fix the problem myself, and I havent changed anything on my computer since the time they were working. I don't have a saved log file right now, and don't feel like wasting another blank dvd to get one, but will if you need one to help fix my problem then i will. BTW, i have nero express 6 and nero vision express 2
