Hi ppl,
had a look round and found this torrent for mobile phone tools 3.23...

i cannot say if it works, or if it can be updated to version 3.25 (if that version exists?!) because i am on dial up and haven't finished downloading it yet! However, it seems to be what we are looking for and i dont see any reason that it wouldnt work.
if you dont know how o use bittorent then just download Azureus (and Java) here: http://azureus.sourceforge.net/ and use the program to open the little torrent file on thepiratebay.

Found it after an exhaustive 1 minute search on google.
The original directions way back at the start of this thread using that super old version are just not even worth bothering with IMO. I wrestled with it for an hour, couldn't even get it to update - it kept redirecting to some buy now page.
Install and run 3.23 and it will update AUTOMATICALLY. Then you can just follow the directions to detect your phone. You MIGHT have to show the new hardware wizard where to find the drivers which will be located in the INF folder inside the install directory.
I got my RAZR up and running no problem in about 10 minutes.

Greetings Everyone I am new to this Forum
I have a MOT v551 Cingular.
I have 2 data Cables 1 a cheap generic 1 from motorola Company.
I have MPT CD Updated to 3.25b running WinXP SP2
With the motorola Cable is Installs the Motorola USB Modem Com 3 But When i run MPT it says Mobile Not Connected.
With the Generic Cable It Installs Motorola Comp Modem Com 4 But when I run MPT It seems to work almost but the part I want to use does not. I am unable to use Mobile Phone Explorer to put anything on or take anything off my phone. Please someone help me There is so much out there that I have learned can be done to the v551 but I am unable to experiment because I cannot get into my phone . I also have pk2man and other files which I cannot use because it also says not connected. Thanks in advance to anyone who helps.

i read the first and last page only just because i dont have the time to read ne more of them... so i just bought my motorola v186
and it has a mini usb part 4 it and i have a mini usb cable from my mp3 player.. so im a adventurer so i first thing i did was stick them to gether.. and it said new hard ware motorola v186 and i tried to install the driver.. failed for sum reason but i didnt mind cause i have no clue wat i was doing.. so i was wondering if some would be kind enough to tell me wat i am susposed to do with my fone connected to the computer...

For some reason my computer doesnt see my phone. motorola V547
wen i plug it in , it searches for the new hardware and then says how the device may not work properly ,i guess it didnt install correctly. thing is my computer is not seeing the 'phone modem' anymore hence i cannot connect /get into my phone with MPT .
anyone know wats wrong? i even tried selecting the inf, but when it comes to installing it to a port , there r not ports and i cannot go foward

i have a motorola v262 and i recently downloaded MPT v3.23 all the applications work except the mobile explorer and the melody studio. does anybody know what might be wrong? i double checked everything to make sure that the phone is connected and that v262 is selected as well as the motorola usb driver is selected. do u think that my service provider might be the problem or could it be something else? my service provider is telus from canada. i haven't been able to send ringtones or images to the phone. somebody please help!

Rougeneu, the service provider should not have anything to do with the problem since you can use the MPT without being connected online. Try doing an update to the latest version of MPT.

Ok guys, just wanted to let you all know i found a place to download motorola phone tools v3.20. It took me about 2 hours and a language pack install but i found it, so enjoy, you may have to drop your firewall to download this.... enjoy.... :)

Rougeneu, the only other thing I can think of is similar to what happens to my wife's V300. The type of connector it has, for some reason, makes it difficult to enable some features of MPT - I don't know why. I have to keep pushing on the connector until I get Mobile Explorer to work. With my Razr and V180 I don't have this problem. Maybe it is the same with your V262.

i downloaded everything fine but when i try to put ringtones on my Razr its tellin me the file is corrupt??? Help me somebody, the wallpapers work fine but the rintones go through but when i try to play the rintone on my phone it says file corrupt.

I have a Motorola v710... Just updated to the new MPT. I'm connected via USB cable and I can upload audio and pictures to my phone and edit my numbers and all that jazz just fine.. But for some reason I can't download the pictures I take with my camera from the phone to my computer. It will start... The file transfer progress screen will pop up and it'll transfer a little but then it freezes and a pop up appears "the communication link has been broken by the phone"
this is driving me nuts. any idea?

i v got same problem with motorola V262, upload images don`t works. Mobile tools just show batery and signal status, I can dial numbers, but nothing more. May it is, becouse I use V 265 modem driver, if someone now where download V 262 driver, or some solution off my problem please write. THANX

I have a Motorola V505 and I have installed everything (mobile phone tools, motorola usb modem, etc.) but it still wont say my phone is connected. When I have the phone conencted to the computer and mobile phone tools opened, it will just stay on the initializing screen. I guess it keeps trying to initialize the modem. Can anybody please help me.

what i tend to do is: on the screen where it asks what type of connection ure using -bluetooth, usb... unplug the phone from the pc and replug it back in. It should automatically start "connecting to your cell", without having to click on anything. Also.. sometimes your phone has to re restarted in order to make a clean connection.
