The original meaning was lord less samurai. During the Meiji Restoration era, the term ronin took on a new connotation, to include a samurai who had left his domain illegally (usually to fight in the Loyalist movement)
That and I'm a huge snowboard fan and an offshoot of the company Burton is Ronin and they make killer cloths....and I have a sticker that says it on my laptop and it was the first thing to pop up!

Hi there gramsie.... Grandparenting is wonderful. I know, I have two, count 'em two! A grandson and granddaughter.
I'm 48 and reaping the benefits of starting parenthood as a baby myself (and my bride, we wed as kiddies).

Well my story goes like this...I'm a mechanic at a corrugated box company so it's box+wrench and oh yeah,I'm a grandpa too! Three little ones and I'm only 46 and married 26 years.How's that for starting young.

@ boxwrench - We are part of the rare few atypical long lasting relationships in our hoity toity society.
My wife and I have 3 chill'n -- 28, 25, 20. SDS. the first SD both married, the eldest S and his bride bringing the GC so far. The D and my SiL, chill'n yet in planning; the youger S in reality 20 going on 12, but he'll catch up :)

Hey garmoon, your name had me stumped. I figured it was something non english..
I like astronomy also, but im not even a good amature :). Looking at the stars makes one realize we are not that great, kinda pathetic as a species, with very few redeaming qualities.. And those are the good things..
Dont mind me, im not really from this planet. Bummer when you break down in this sector of the universe, and they wont send a tow.. Too dangerous they say..
