I am having a problem burning a simple dvd to a dvd-r using a Sony DVD Burner RW DRU-720A. I am currently using the burning program DVDXCopy Gold and for some reason every time I try to burn a DVD I receive the following message:

Drive Operation was not successful.
DVD recorder is not ready
Driver error code = 02020408h.
Cannot get disc and track information from the recorder.
DVD recorder is not ready.
Driver error code = 02020407h.
The disc is not successfully recorded

The burner records right to the end until I receive this error.

Could you assist me with this dilemma or refer me to someone who can?
I appreciate any assistance you can throw my way.

I am operating on Windows XP Pentium 4 Model Sony PCVRX850 Desktop.

Change media. Cheap media if poorly manufactured around the edge of the disc, hence why the reason it is failing at the end.

Is there a setting in the program where you can set the size of the burn to 4300, as this will keep it from burning to close to the edge and you wont really see any difference, stick to good media TY or Verbs
