Three Questions... I don't know what to do!
1. On one hand I can go the way of Burning backups of my ps1 and ps2 games, but with that I read alot on this forum that nero can burn them, well I just bought Nero 6 only a month ago and I've only been using nerovision to cutomize my movies, so I don't know if or how Nero 6 could backup my games?
2. And if I do question 1 which is the best, buying pre-moded, swapmagic, or soderless modchips?
3. And on the other hand theres hard drives, hdadvance or usbextreme?
with hdadvance it says it copies everything but you need to buy the network box and only certain harddrives, but the usbextreme can hook up to any external harddrive and doesn't need the network box but I'm not sure if it copies all ps1 and ps2?
1. i would recomend using DVD Decrypter for all your dvd backing up needs. and Alcohol 120 for cd back ups. both are easy to use and work great. Nero is good if your starting with cue bin files, but when backing up originals dvd decrypeter is your best bet.
2. whether or not you wanna mess with the inner workings of your ps2, swap magic and slide card is a good choice.
3. hard to answer this without being bias according to what you already own. in my opion usbextreme is an alternative to the internal hdd for those that have a new slimline ps2. and regards to your comment about only certain hdd's working. there are more that work than dont. you can find a list of working and non working here http://ps2drives.x-pec.com/ either way you are gonna purchase a hdd, and either way your gonna need to purchase other hardware, either the necessary cales for usb, or network adapter for internal. if you plan on ever playin your games online your gonna need the network adapter anyways. so in my opinion hdadvance through the memory card exploit is the best way to go. im sure there are others that disagree, but this is just my opinion.
Thank you! thats great I think now though that the best for me is the usbextreme well since I want to upgrade to the slim ps2 or maybe soon the ps3, but does it work the same for ps1 games aswell as ps2 games, and how does games with multiple discs work?
wouldnt know about ps1 games, have never tried to back one up. since ps1 games are i believe cd's an exact copy can prob be done, and the swap magic cd would work with those. as for multiple disk games i dont know this for sure, but i believe its just like playin another game, it just checks your save status to see if you've reached that point of the game.
thanx your a big help...but what about memory cards, with the usbextreme does the harddrive save a little space for the saved games or do you still have to use memory cards?
