Alright i know i'm going to degrade myself by asking such a noob question but i have a xbox with an xecuter 3 chip, and LCD screen, And 2 usb ports. I also have a 1 GB thumb drive and an external 100GB plug and play HD and I was wondering where the External drive would show up on my xbox whether it be a dash or something else i was looking for it because i was thinking of putting games on my external HD and then loading them onto the standard xbox drive when i wanted to play them instead of upgrading the xbox HD just transfer the files via USB. I have UnleashX, XBMC, and of corse the M$ dash along with the cromwell that is stored on my chip! I was just wondering how to acess it and where would it show up???

thanks

Xbox: V1.0, Thompson DVD-Rom Drive, 10 GB HD

Dash Board: Unleash X

Other Mods: LCD screen, 2 USB Ports, Pro Switch

APPS: Xbox Media Center

What I do is hook up my external to the computer and share it on the network. Then I hook up the computer to the network my xbox is on. Then I use quix to transfer games to and from the xbox. Keep in mind that everytime you reset the external drive you have to share it again.

If u don't like that you could see if linux on the xbox would detect it, but i dont think if u just plugged a usb drive into the xbox it would just play on evox or anything. The drives are built for computers so i think u have to emulatate a computer somehow.

See it is plug and play so there are no drivers or software involved.....i mean why else are there USB ports there.....? other than keyboards and shit like that but i'm sure there is a way for my box to detect it but i don't know where it would show up....checked xbmc and unleashX
