i am new to all the mods for the xbox so ill try my best here. after reading many forums on the error codes and whatnot what i get out of it is either a bad/corrupt files in the dash or something to that effect. either way i was given an xbox for free to try and repair. i get the error code of 16 when it goes to boot. what i want to know is there anyway to restore the original M$ dash from either another HDD, system or download the files to put back into the HDD.

i have read tutorials on how to mod the xbox and load mod chip dash's and some of the other exploits. all i want to do is set it back to OEM then i can start to mod from there.

some the questions i have for the experts here is: what is a good chip to get(prefer solderless)and how do i go about loading the oem dash back to the HDD. (if the oem dash files exist)

i know there are a lot of different things here that i am either unaware of or forgetting to mention. i dont know if i can even FTP into this xbox and if i cant then is there a way to get into the drive to unlock it?

if there is a tutorial for this please point me in the right direction (many thanx) and sorry for wasting your time.
