Princo -R Illegal medium in Sony DRU 500a

Nero 5.5.10.7b

I'm having problems with Princo and re-branded Princo -Rs (Bulkpaq and White Label). The discs show the following in ADVDInfo:

00 6A 00 00 01 40 C1 FD 9E D8 50 00 02 98 0C 13 .J...@....P.....
76 78 80 00 03 50 52 49 4E 43 4F 00 04 00 01 00 VX...PRINCO.....
00 00 00 00 05 88 80 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 ................

The discs appear to write fine right up to 100% and then get stuck.

If I force an eject the disc appears to play fine in my PS2 and my stand-alone player.

If I instead leave the disc in for a couple of hours. Nero eventually tells me it failed with the following errors:
Illegal medium
Could not perform end of Disc-At-Once

Those discs don't play in either my PS2 or my stand-alone though.

The problem is brand specific as I don?t have this when using Ricoh or Ritek.

I?m pretty sure I read in the forum of people using Princos all right with the dru. I looked on the forum to see if anyone else was having my problem but was surprised when I found no one.

I live in the UK and read on one of the threads about a bad batch of discs. Is this the sort of symptom you?d expect from them?

Try another program or an updated NERO. Nero sometimes have burning problems with any dvd/cdr burner. I dont think it's the the type of media. Just try another program and see what happens.
