I know that HDLoader does not support DVD9 games as of yet, but is this only if you convert the DVD9 game with HDLoader to your PS2 HDD? What I'm asking is...

1) Can you use HDLDump to transfer a DVD9 game from the computer to the PS2 via network and have the game run off the HDD? Or does it not matter if you transfer the game from the computer or use HDLoader to convert the game disc to the HDD, it just won't work?

2) If I transfer a game through FTP (like GT4 above), will I need to have the slide tool or flip top cover to play it? Or are those tools only for backups of CDs/DVDs inserted in the tray?

hdadvance and hdloader will not convert a dvd 9 game to hdd. you can use hdl_dumb to transer the game. and hdadvance usa version 1.0 has dvd 9 support. i know it sounds odd. everyone prob has version 2.0, but the usa version 1.0 is newer and has the support. no need to flatten games like gow and gt4. also has more modes. instead of 3 has the full eight modes
