Anyone know a program other than Winavi .. that I can use to make a dvd from a Matroska file ?

I dont like Winavi because i have to guess at the size off the Dvd file it makes ... There are 2 Matroska files that i want to fit onto the dvd ... but Winavi only has about 5 setting to pick from .. so i normally end up with a dvd file that is about 3.gbs or one that is to big ... I would like for the final file to be about 4.3gb ..

You should be able to open the MKV file in "Virtual-Dub-Mod" and save it as an AVI file (Without actually re-encodeing it) or you can Load the MKV file into V-Dub-Mod and then Frameserve the File to an encoder like "Tmpgenc Pluss" which is a Good Quality encoder(but it is a Little slow) that will accept V-Dub frameserver Files .....

Cheers

VirtualDubMod's mkv support is somewhat out of date, plus mkv's can contain video which is not compatible with AVI or use VFR (variable frame rate) so that although you can convert to AVI you loose sync since AVI can't handle VFR.

Since TMPGEnc accepts input via dshow it should be able to open a mkv directly. However I believe it doesn't work with haali's splitter, so you have to use Gabest's one which is also somewhat out of date now.

Well if you have an older pack then it includes Gabest's splitter.
