Hello all,

I have a Cyberhome 16x +-RW burner that does duel layer disks also. I went out and bought 16x disks. I use nero and dvd shrink to copy my dvds. For whatever reason I feel that it is not copying at 16x? Is there a way to make it so it goes faster?!? Does nero automatically detect how fast the disk is?

Thanks Please reply

Burning at 16X is not recommended! If you have the need to, use Verbatim DataLife Plus disc's. Burning at 16X, will most defiantly yield very poor results.

Just think of it like this, your speedometer on your car can say 100+, but do you drive it that fast?

Like jmet said 16x in not recommended but if you want to try it : When burning useing Nero, the screen that has the burn button should have an option to change your speed.

Also when you start to burn I think it tells you the speed your burning in the Nero burn log.

If you have a very good DVD player you might get lucky at 16x

If you want to Make backups faster try useing DVD Decrypter.

Decrypter iso read about 13 min daul layer about 20 min.

Decrypter iso write about 13 min

If its a daul layer you will also have to run shrink thats about About 30 min

At 16x, you should be able to burn 4360 mbs in about 4-5 mins. Ill-advisable,but with some of these quality 16x burners, high quality media:the greater the success at higher speeds.

Also your cyberhomes firmware controls the speed that it is allowed to burn those 16x blank discs. That may be the bugger that is holding up the 16x speed. It all comes down to firmware on dvd drives.

These are just avg burn time only-depending on the size:
16x- 4-5 mins
12x-6-7 mins
8x-7-9 mins
4x-15 mins

What is exact model # of cyberhome DVD-RW drive?
What is your burner's current firmware version?
What is the name brand and format of your blank 16x discs?
can you give us the MID code from those 16x discs?
What other programs are you using besides Nero?

Use Nero infotool to find this info.
