I am basically new to burning dvd's, and in advance thank you for any help I can get. After I use dvdshrink 3.1, and once dvd decryptor attempts to burn the disc, a message saying "Failed to reserve track - Reason: Cannot write medium - incompatible format" appears. I've had a heck of a time since starting to burn dvd's. Can some one please help?! Thank you!!!

What brand of media are you using? Go into Decrypter in the Tools Tab then Drive then Capabilities and find the make/model of your drive and the current version firmware and post it. It will look like this

I am using Lite-On DVDRW SOHW-1673S JS01 (F:) (USB).
Another problem: The DVD burner is supposed to be able to burn - and + R/RW. I haven't had a lot of problems with -RW, but I just tried -R and am having problems. I am using Fujifilm 4.7GB x2 discs. Thanks!!!

You are still using the original firmware on your burner you are way behind in updating it, that is why you are having problems with media and play back. Go here to the Lite-on site and dl the latest firmware for your burner and flash the drive. You will see your burner listed on the page. Current is 16JS0C

Just double click on the zip file and it will open, that is if you have an unzipping program like WinZIP. Then just click on the flash exe file and it will automatically flash your drive. After it is done, since yours is a USB, shut you computer down an unplug and replug your drive.

Alright will try. When it downloaded, it was already in zip format though. Matter? Thanks
