catfreak, the Best Buy Sony 50 packs are the "Accucore" ones I always get. I KNOW the +Rs are Made in Japan and Taiyo Yuden made. As for the 25 packs, at Staples or anywhere else, for whatever reason the 25 packs are ALL made in Taiwan. However, I KNOW that the +R ones are Excellent Media, they manufacturer I.D. as Sony D11. No clue who makes those. But for my money, either one is Great! I prefer the 50 packs of DVD+R Sony. Made in Japan, and they ROCK! They even "Feel Good" in your hand! Really! I know where I'll be tomorrow, Best Buy! Those Taiyo Yuden made Sony 50 packs are SO SWEET! Thanks for the Heads Up catfreak!

I HATE Rebates! But that is a good deal. I still like the Sony Made in Japan Accucores best. They DO media code as Taiyo Yuden. At least the +Rs do.

You know what, bunnyrip, for some strange reason, my LiteOn set top recorders like the Verbatim and Taiwanese Sony discs the most .. The TYG Sony discs semm to 'hang up' from time to time if I try to add to the disc (like weekly Tv show recording) .. Now my PC writer, it'll use anything, however the disc is always 'finalized' before removal

catfreak, that's interesting. I have 2 LG Multi-Format drives in my 2 PCs. 1 is a GSA-4120 12X, 1 is GSA-4160 16X. Both LOVE the Verbatims, Sonys, Maxell, TDK Media. I always finalize before removal. The LiteOn Set Top, might like DVD+RW media if you're adding to them. Just a Theory. The Sonys you use, are they DVD+R? The +R media is DVD+RW based.

I always use +R discs, my PC drive will only record to +R while my 2 set top recorders will record to anything round and shiny ... The only time I use +RW discs is when I want to transfer whatever to my PV for editing ...

i picked up a 50 pack of the sony DVD+R made in japans from best buy today. The manufacturers Id is YUDEN000 T02. Must be Taiyo Yudens.

Yeah, the Sony Made in Japans at Best Buy ARE Taiyo Yuden, at least I KNOW the +Rs are. If you go for the Fuji 25 packs for 9.99, look carefully at the containers, some are Made in Japan, some in Taiwan. I purchsed me a 50 pack spindle of those Sweet Sony DVD+R Japan mades. I Love those!

The 16x Verbatim discs at Office Depot are my LiteOn set top recorders favorite food .. NEVER any problems with those babies .. Even though I went a little nuts a month ago when the 100 packs were $37.99 at OD, I'll have to get at least 5 more packs of 50 this week ...

The Sony -R at best buy code out as SOND08D1 Sony media
and the Sony +Rs code out as Taiyo Yuden Mfg. Ltd. YUDEN000 T02. Both are instant rebate. Love them TY's.

Yeah, I Love those TYs too! It is so Ironic that Sony, the CSS Masters,:) Sell some of The Best DVD Media!
