I am using DVD Decrypter to burn DVD backups. For some reason the backups will not play in my Playstation. Backups made by friends using DVD Decrypter and Nero work fine and play in Playstation. I am using TY discs and burning at lowest speed. I re-authored the DVD backups using DVD shrink to just backup the main movie and nothing else and DVD Decrypter burns the backup as an ISO file. What am I doing wrong? Please help!

I also tried Nero and having same problem.

Backups will play in other DVD players just not Playstation.

Thanks for you help.

What is your friend's burner brand name and model#?
What is your burner's brand name and model#?
What format and speed rate are those tys?
What version is your ps2?

I've got 5 DVD-RW drives and know there are variations between burners that make backups that play everywhere whereas a couple of those burners have backups that those same stand alones don't want to recognize.Certain players just won't play backups from certain burners. That's why I booktype my backups from dvd plus format into the more universal dvd-rom format. The only stand alone player that I encountered that wouldn't play my dash or dvd-rom backups is a v1 ps2.

Try the opposite format if possible.
If your ps2 doesn't recognize either format backups from your own DVD-RW drive:

Try updating the firmware in your DVD-RW drive.
Depending on your model # of burner, you may be able to booktype.

Can you try one of your friend's blank verbs +8x and burn it with your sony 510A and check it out on your ps2?

I've ripped a buddy of mine backups who has an NEC 2510. Both my benq's couldn't read his ty-g01 maxells, but my Lite-on 167T was able to read and rip them.

When it comes to ripping backups from other peeps burners, then trouble can arrise. Usually media/format/and or even too fast of burn speed. Some burners will absolutely not be able to recognize other burner's backups.A separate dvd-rom drive is more forgiving.
