i've had my ps2 for about a month and it suddenly doesn't play any of my backups anymore all my backups used to work now it just doesn't read it and brings up the regular error screen i don't remember which mod chip it was but it had instructions like what buttoms to push to load up games but i lost the paper with the instructions:( could someone help me out?

regular games play fine on it so i don't think the laser is dirty but doesn't anybody know about a modchip with directions to booting up backups or sumthin :(

what make modchip do you have if you forgot you will have to take it apart to find out ther all many types of mod chips

there isn't any burns or scratches or broken parts so its not busted from the looks of it and the modchip is dms4 lite hopefully someone knows some stuff about it. also even though theres a mod chip in it and its not really working right now could i get one of those swap magic things or would it interfere with the modchip

Ok, i discovered soemthing...when playing original games, disabe the chip or turn it off, and turn it back on when you play bakcup games. Whn i disable the chip toplay original games, the loadings times are like normal, but when i play an original game with the chip ON, the loading times get slower.

i might have disabled the chip on accident cause normal games work fine do you know how to switch it on and off?

if it works the same as the DMS4 pro then
It is by holding L1 when you start the PS2

But the chip is suppose to only be disabled until it is
put into standby mode, then it should come back on.

HipN, you should not have that problem.
Both my originals and back ups play the same and i
never disable the chip.
