Does anyone know anything about the "APS Tech" CD burner?

I've just had scanned a large number of valuable slides (am having a book published), and wish to archive them to CD.
(Managed to obtain some Taiyo Yuden disks,
thanks to the helpful info on this forum.)
The photographer who scanned the slides has two CD burners - one of unknown brand on a PC (don't know the specs, sorry), and an APS Tech which is a couple of years old and burns at 8x. Mac/PC is not an issue, but quality is - a lot of work went into these scans.
Any suggestions? I'm new to all of this.

Thanks,
"bbee" (Indianapolis, IN, USA)
