Hey all,
I've been playing Dynasty Warriors 3 and recently got the Xtreme Legends expansion. This expansion allows you to load all the original data from DW3 by inserting the DW3 disc. I've been playing using the HDLoader and can't seem to get the original data recognized. I've tried having both games loaded and tried inserting the actual DW3:XL disc, but the HDLoader pretty much turns off the disc drive. I've seen there is a way to create an ISO that works, but that post has since disappeared. I know it involves copying the SLUS file from the first game into the ISO of the XL game. I tried that and it hung at "Loading original data..." which is further than it got before. Can someone provide details on what needs to be in the combined ISO?

Someone has to have faced this before, perhaps with other DW games or even this one?

I've asked this question too, in a wide range of communities. I don't think anyone knows the answer to this.

There ARE Action Replay codes to get around the "Load original disc" feature, but those are for the Japanese versions only. The SLUS idea is interesting....and I too am asking for anyone who knows about this to come forward....

Someone HAS done it before; the post that disappeared was on GameFAQs. The steps I took were the following:

Make an ISO of DW3:XL.
Copy the SLUS file from DW3 and add it to the DW3:XL ISO.
I actually used WinHIIP to transfer the new ISO to the HDD and identified XL's SLUS file as the "boot file", not DW3's SLUS file.

At this point, instead of prompting for a DW3 disc, the game will say "Loading data..." but hangs there. Must be missing another file from the DW3 disc. I have a couple files that look like possibilities I guess I could try.

Funny you've looked around too; I was SURE someone else had hit this problem, not only in DW3:XL, but DW4 and DW5 as well. I guess not, or at least the solution's not well known.

I'm currently trying it out with Samurai Warriors. When I get a solution, I'll post. It's fun experimenting, lol, though I imagine I'll get alot of coasters.

Well let me know what you find; I imagine the process is similar.
