many modders have posted mod tuts, but they are very confusing. like "back up your EPPROM" no idea what tht means. if you can, please, post a tutorial or give me the exact site with a tut. I have Mech Assault, and i dont plan on getting AgentUnderFire, or splinter cell orig., so plz help me quick.
Softmodding is one of the easiest things to do to your xbox.
Where to begin?
Softmod Xbox (Dashboard)
Download the linux file for what game you have
They have to be one of the classics of the following-
(MechAssault)
(SplinterCell)
(007AgentUnderFire)
NOTE: CANNOT BE PLATINUM HIT OR IT WONT WORK!!!
You need Action Replay to transfer the Linux file
Start up what game you have, and find "Xbox Hard Disk" or "Run Linux" (which is usually under campaign or load mission)
Follow instructions that the softmod gives you:
Click "Install Softmod"
Click "Step 1: Virtual EEPROM"
After thats done
Click "Step 2: Virtual C" (that takes a while)
When it's done, it should restart the game
Choose "Xbox Hard Disk" or "Run Linux" again
When it asks you which nkpatcher to choose, choose .67 (bottom)
I personally chose EvolutionX (EvoX) as my mod
You don't have to read everything tells you, just press A
After it has finished installing, take out the disk and restart you xbox with no disk in it.
Get The .map
NOTE: FOR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING YOU MUST BE IN THE MODDED DASHBAORD
Open flash fxp
Click thunderbolt on right side
Then go to quick connect
Username and password= xbox
Fill in xbox IP address right above username
Click connect
Click E drive
Click T data
Click 4d530064
Now there should be 3 folders
One that ends with
001
002
and 003
Put on mods
Download PPF
Use PPF-O-Matic
(PPF-O-Matic can be found here)
PPF goes on bottom
.map goes on top
Click apply
Now your .map is officially modded!
NOTE: IF YOUR USING MY MODS FOR TURF (IF NOT ALREADY MODDED) AND ELONGATION YOU MUST USE CMR
Put the .map where you found it using ftp
If it asks you to overwrite the file click yes
