Honestly, most people can't tell the different between the 2, so AC3 is all "most" people use and is perfectly fine.

DTS gives a more pure reproductive sound, but you must have equipment that can handle it. e.g. dvd player, stereo amplifier or TV. Ooops, sorry Jmet didn't mean step on your toes. You beat me to the punch.

i just select ONLY 5.1 audio (i haven't got DTS equipment). your tv/player etc will simply downmix 5.1 to normal stereo if your equipment isn't 5.1 capable

I experimented once making a back-up adding just the DTS audio track and found that unlike DD it was not downmixed to stereo. An important point should you wish to view the movie away from your DTS capable set-up.
Since then, if the movie has DD and DTS I back-up with both, since I have noticed better sound from DTS. (I did'nt know that DTS could'nt be supressed though for late night viewing) AHHHHHH sod the neighbours.
