I have Nero Smart Start i used to burn dvd's. I have a Sagar 8880 and it doesn't recognize a Memorex DVD-R disc which doesn't allow me to burn or make a dvd. I read on a forum that the same thing happened with them and memorex dvd's. Does anybody know anything about this problem?

Memorex DVDs are known for their poor quality. Looks for blank DVDs manufactured in Japan. Stay away from those made in Tiawan or Hong Kong. Maxell and TDK tend to be good. But it's important to look at the packaging to see where it was made, as the same brand can have manufacturing facilities in more than one country. Good luck.

Memorex is not the best brand of media to use, you would be better to use the name brands such as Sony, Fuji, Verbatim or Maxell. Have you had problems burning -R format disks in the past? What is the make/model and current firmware of your burner? You can find out this info by using the Nero Info Tool.

I thought this is the problem, that your computer/burner is not recognizing your media format.

What format are your files, are they AVI, Video_TS etc. Have you used been able to burn DVD's using this media before, did your burner recognize it? Again what is the make/model and current firmware of your burner, use the Nero Info Tool and post the information.

Sager 8800 is your pc brand. As Arniebear suggested run Nero InfoTool for the make, model and current firmware. Then we can help if you need a firmware update. However Memerox uses crappy manufacturers so even a firmware update may not solve all burning problems. You can also check the manufacturers id w/ Nero Infotool just click on the disc tab. Post back the id.
Oh and you should edit you sig - advertising and free schemes are against forum rules.
