Hi,

I installed a Matrix infinity chip along with a lazer Neo-fix into my PS2 V12. It worked perfectly until my daughter dropped it (only about 6 inches) but onto a hard surface.
After that it would only play all games on CD but not on DVD ?? Originals or copies.

I opened it up to find the +3.3v wire & the "GND" wires disconnected from the motherboard (as these are a heavier gauge wire).
I soldered these back on & tried to play some games and found that only about 2 copied games on CD's would play out of about 30??? No originals would play either.

I checked the other wires and resoldered the "SX" wire, which i've been told is only for playing PS1 games.

I had to give this solder point & the +3.3v solder point on the board a bit of extra heat (hope I havn't fried any components) as I was extremely careful with all the others.

Now NO GAMES play!! It goes straight to the "Browser/Configuration" menu.

I took the chip out (taking the wires off the chip side) as this was easier, but left the lazer neo-fix in place.

Now when i try to play PS1 original games the screen shows "Please insert a Playstation or a Playstaion 2 format disc" and the PS2 games go straight to the "Browser/Configuration" menu, as before.

CAN ANYONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT's WRONG????

Ps. Sorry about the long post. I just wanted to get the full story out.

Thanks!!!
