Ive looked everywhere and im still having problems...i have put an xecuter 2.6 solderless chip in an xbox. all went well and it is asking me to flash the bios. However, i do not know where to get the bios or which one to use( do i have to use xbins??) also , do i need a dashboard? do i install that first or after i flash it or not at all. I have not swapped hard drives. Also, the xbox boots up asking for the bios flash with the chip swithched on but with it off i get the microsoft xbox is damaged message. Is this right?

Hi,

I have the x3ce chip but im guessing their software is quite similar. I use xbins because I takes quite a while to search for a direct download if you don't know what your searching for! Xbins has everything there Bios, apps, emulators everything. I don't know about the dashboard because I havn't manged to find a dashboard in a format I won't have to load it on to a CD/RW or DVD. You might want to ask someone with a little moe experince. Hope this helps

Just get the newest X2 bios, and yes you can find that on #xbins. Here is something you should read, http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=351619

Here is a little guide for you after you find your bios:

1) Flash your X2 chip w/ the bios

2) Download the Evolution X dashboard build 3935
http://www.x-b-o-x.net/modules/mydownloads/viewcat.php?cid=1 or follow this guide on how to get it w/ mIRC and FlashFXP, http://www.teammodders.com/viewtopic.php?t=96

3) Extract these files from the EVOX file

--skins (folder)
--evox.ini
--evoxdash.xbe

4) FTP into your Xbox

Now all you have to do is transfer the three files listed above into the root directory of your Xbox's C:

5) Create 2 new folders in your Xbox's E: and name one apps and the other games (This is where you will put your games and apps into)

You can skip over steps 2-5 and just get Slayers, which can be found on #xbins as well. Burn Slayers to a quality DVD-R disc, pop it in your Xbox, and use the setting "EvoX on C: and Apps on E:"
