I was wondering if anyone knew of any way that might be possible for rewiring a vintage game system controller to work on the PS2? For example, an original NES or SNES or Genesis pad....the goal isn't for using one on actual PS2 games but for using them with emulators for vintage games on the PS2.

unfortunately it isnt possible because the inerfaces are different between the ps2 and the device it wouldnt work unless you were prepared to modify a ps2 controller or you could buy another third party controller like a nes controller for the ps2 but i have no idea if they even exist

There are ways as I have seen some on the old TechTV and now G4TV on satellite/cable, you just have to look. I myself modded a PS2 controller to be used in a box with actual Arcade Buttons (got some when I worked at an arcade). I also have an adapter so I can use it on my Dreamcast and Xbox. It's been in this stage as I still haven't completed the final way I want it but it works perfectly!
