2.4x is not an option when bunring with my drive... why?

I cannot select 2.4x for bunring in either Nero Burning ROM or DVD Decrypter! The lowest it displays is 4x... My drive IS able to do 2.4 using +R, since it is listed by the manufacturer (LG), and my media is 1-8X MCC03's.

I don't get it.....any help would be appreictaed..
