I have FUJIFILM DVD-R Media and a Memorex DL burner. I am using DVD Shrink and Nero6. I am burning DVD copies that are viewable in PC DVD players - but not in stand alone DVD players.

I have tried the APEX DVD player here - and also the X-Box DVD player..

TIA for help...

What speed are you burning with? Normally, anything under 4x is good. If the default to Decrypter is on "Max", I suggest you take it down to 4x or less.

Check out the link on my sig, ScubaPete has a very informative site.

Good Luck!

The slowest I burned at was 6X. I will try to burn one at 2X and see what happens. BTW - the media is FujiFilm +R an the burner is Memorex model DVD+?-DLRWL16D2-15. It came with the Nero Suite and I am using the newest DVDShrink. I will try to burn one at 2X and see what happens. The message from the DVD players is NO DISC... This is really frustrating and I appreciate your help konfused1.

Just to add, you might want to download DVDDecrypter from this site (it's free) and click on the link on my sig. It might just do the trick.

I am trying the DVDDecrypter now, but not sure I understand. Is the ISO file the image of the whole DVD? What is the breakdown of the files in the VIDEO_TS folder? Which ones do what?

My last try = DVDShrink still burned at 6x depite me telling it to at 2X and I made another coaster...

For DVDDecrypter - do you just do Mode W and decode the disk to 1 ISO file - then open that ISO file with DVDShrink and burn it to DVD?

first off dvd stand alone players like DVD-R not +r espically on older units also do not burn above 4X go back to dvdshrink since you have had go luck with working it now go into the setting uncheck burn with Nero i forget exactly what it says something to that effect (im at work right now sorry)if you can not find it just do not put a blank dvd in your burner use shrink to get the movie to your hard drive when it ask for the blank dvd cancel the operation in your destination folder will be the movie then manually go into Nero and set up the burn and make sure you set it to 4X or less here is a good guide at the end it tells you how to manually burn with Nero.

Yeah BABY! IT worked. I bought MEMOREX DVD -R. Why didn't somebody tell me this to begin with. I do not see this pointed out anywhere and it is essesntial. Not ONLY buy good media but if you are a newbie BUY -R NOT +R....

Memorex burner - Memorex media -R - burning with DVDClone2 at 4X now - I might just buy that as it is so much easier.

Making DVD copies from HD in like 4 min and from source DVD in like 6min...

Yeah BABY - it works.

No-one else has every clearly explained the VIDEO_TS folder structure and what *.ISO files do what menu wise??? Somebody write a GOOD concise newbie guide and include this very basic info. It is not on scuba pete or anywhere in the newbie section here that I saw. I am a software engineer and this took me a week to figure out.... God help the rest of the end-user population....
