Just got a new computer with DVD+-R. Software is Sonic MyDVD. Came with it. Don't know how good this software is. Purpose is to download from a camera to the computer and then onto a DVD using Pinnacle 9.
However my current questions is this. I've downloaded a movie using the file sharing program limewire. How do I burn this to a DVD?
Thanks for your help.

What format is the movie? If it is AVI, then you will have to first convert it to dvd format. There is a good chance that MyDVD or Pinnacle will do this.

Does either have a feature to create your own dvd movies using video clips? This is what you would use. You will however, get better results from using an encoder like TMPGEnc, CCE, or maybe something like avi2dvd.

Now that I think about it, MyDVD is for authoring dvds. This is the program you will need to use. I am not familiar with it, but there should be an option to create a DVD Video. Importing from a camera simply mean tranfer the files from camera to PC and then drag and drop into MyDVD. If you downloaded a movie from p2p it is the same.

If it does not have the feature, then you will have to do it using other programs. You can use TMPGEnc to convert your mpeg into .m2v and .wav files. Then you can download DVDlabpro to author your DVD and create a menu. Both are fully featured for 30 days and semi easy to use.

If Nero Vision Express comes fully featured as a demo, then you can try downloading that. Import your files into it and then go through the wizard and create your menus. I do not think this has it own burning engine since Nero also makes burning software. You can use the record to image recroder and then click burn. It will make a .nrg file and you can burn that with DVD Decrypter.

@ drevans
i never ever do this downloading files (j/k) but your files, simple. d/l or purchase Nero, open it up using NVE (nero vision express) select 'make a dvd', select 'add files' watch your meter bar at the bottom, not to fill it up, then once done, you can make menus and screens, then click burn, it will take some time, but you will get what you are after. its pretty simple to begin with, until you get a little more advanced. give that a shot, see what happens.

hi

use dvdpatcher and then there is no encoding to do or loss of quailty!!

only patch the first header useing this app not all the file!

and set to your region PAL or NTSC

then load to TMPGEnc dvd author to make vobs/dvd files to burn

easy!

Nothing here to see, move along folks.
