I got an error when I tried to put Fever Pitch through DVD Shrink. So, I sent it through DVD Decrypter and it backed up and burned with out any issues. When I put it in my DVD player it will not play and just says error on my dvd screen. I have been using the same dvd's to burn many other movies on and had no problems yet. They are Philips DVD+R. Any suggestions of what went wrong?

I have a Sony DVD RW DRU 500A Burner, for some reason it won't recognize some of my DVD's. Hot Shots, Hot Shots Part Deux, and now Fever Pitch (maybe it just doesn't like baseball movies)to name a few. I have tried everything I can think of. Used a DVD Lens cleaner, cleaned the DVD, updated the Firmware. Ran a Diagnostic tool from Sony that says the Drive works fine. Closed all other programs. Still it just doesn't recognize these disks, it just says the drive is empty, please insert disk. Using Windows XP, Pentium 4, 1.80 GHz, 736 MB RAM. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Fever Pitch is nothing special. I ripped it using DVD Decrypter using Mode, File F into my hard drive flawlessly. Once that process is completed, I open up Nero Recode 2 to do the encoding and set my "custom" size to "4360MB". Afterward, I just back it up with Nero Burning Rom.

I burned it through DVD Shrink 3.2 after sending it through the DVD Decrypter.

Is Philips DVD+R I-2.4x good media?

Another note: When I put it in my computer to play on Media Player it reads as a blank disk.

Larry - what do you mean by booktype the DVD+R?

You booktype with DVD Decryptor by

opening DVD decryptor

Click on "TOOLS" at the top
then go to "DRIVE"
then in that list that pop's out click on "CHANGE BOOKTYPE"

Now another window pops up.
you need to choose the tab that has the Brand of burnner you have.

Then go to the pull down menu option part that says "change for" and choose change for (DVD+R/DVD+R DL)

Now in the new setting option pull down menu and choose "DVD-ROM"

then click on the CHANGE button in the right bottem cornner and it should burn your DVD+R as DVD-ROM now

How do I find out what type of burner I have? My computer came with a dual drive CD & DVD burner. My computer is an emachine that I just bought last February. I see Nu Tech, Plextor, RICOH, BenQ, LG, LITE-ON, and NEC as my "Change Book Type" options and do not see any of those anywhere on my computer.

I downloaded a picture to photobucket.com but having trouble. I have some of those Phillips +r 2.4x and they code as:

CMC MAG-R01-000

Not exactly quality stuff, but I don't put anything important on them. I usually pass those cmag copies around so no biggie. My benqs burn them ok,I just don't trust them.

If that's the only 1 out of the batch then you may be ok. Just be careful because they are cmags.

When you go into the backup options tab in DVD Shrink, click the Burn settings tab. You'll see a box that says BOOKTYPE TO DVD ROM. Tick it. If your burner doesn't support booktyping,I don't think it will hurt. Give that a try.

To find out what brand of DVD you have do this in DVD Decryptor.

Click on "TOOL" option Then go to the "DRIVE" Option then instead of clicking on "CHANGE BOOKTYPING" go down the list a little and click on "CAPABILITES"

Once you click that a window will pop up giving you a list of what your DVD can and cant do.

At the top of the list it tells you what devices you have and the brand name and firmware version you have installed on it.

Once you see what brand of DVD Burrner you have close that out then go to "BOOKTYPING" as before and choose that brand.

That might not be your problem. The same thing happend to me with the movie. I used DVD decryptor to rip it, and when i tried to use DVD Shrink to reauthor it would error. So i burned it with Clone DVD and it plays, but it skips and and is unwatchable. I am using Maxell DVD+R 8x(MAXELL002) and changing the booktype to dvd-rom. There must be some thing written on the disc causing this. I will try to burn it with Nero to see if that works.

@keverding

there is nothing on the disc keeping you from doing it unless you have a flawed disc yourself.

I riped the Fever Pitch with DVD decryptor and used Shrink and burned with DVD Decryptor and works perfect.

Have you tried to play it on a table top dvd player, because i got it to rip and burn fine, but when i play it on my dvd player it plays, but it pixels out and skips a little. I tried recode Nero and it worked alot better, u can actually watch it, but when it switches sceens you can notice the pixels are fuzzy a little, then it focuses.

@keverding

Download DVD Decryptor and rip the DVD to your hard drive.

Load the riped hard drive files into Nero Recode2. On the right hand side of Recode 2 towords the bottem it says fit to target. put a tick mark there and then custom set it at 4300 this will help from the burn going to close to the edge of the blank disc. now after you click on next make sure theres a tick in the "Advanced anaylis" box and 1 in the "High quility Mode" box.

Now when you burn make sure you are burrning at 4x or slower. NO FASTER.

If that dosent help then get diffrent media, it cpuld be the Media your using is cheap or your home player just dosent like it.

Thank you. I got it to work by taking the file from Decrypter to Shrink and burned through Nero at 2.4x speed.

FYI, I wasn't able to do anything with the booktype because my burner was not listed (TSST).

TSST means that it is a Samsung. I ripped, encoded, and burned fever pitch without any problems. DVD Decrytper to rip, DVD Shrink to encode, and Nero 6.6 burning rom. I have a NEC ND-3540A burner and it works great. It was definitely worth the 40 bucks.

I agree with the majority fever pitch is not difficult to burn just time consuming ripped with DVD Decrypter , shrunk it with DVD Shrink burned with roxio - Creator classic to convert Video Ts to Iso file & dvd Builder to burn & finalize ! I suppose I could have tried DVD FaB Decrypter to rip but regular Decryp[ter worked just fine ! thanx all for the help - Peace & Happy Burning!
