I ordered a premodded slimline PS2 from xmodd.com, who took 4eva to ship and probably would've forgot if I hadn't emailed them about it. And on their site, you can only select USP ground shipping for $20 but it was shipped via USPS and they just left it by my door. Thank god, I knew they were going to do that so I went back home after lunch and took it inside. And if you check them out at:
I'm not the only one who complained they charged for UPS Ground but shipped via USPS and the guy didn't even receive his PS2! Anyways, I tried it out and the PS2 won't boot up games correctly majority of the time, whether it's back ups or originals. And along w/ their email containing the tracking info, they stated that if the sticker on the side of the PS2 is tampered w/, the warranty is void. I know all modding services do that and I don't question it or have any problems w/ that except for the fact that mine look like it was tampered with! I had planned to email them and ship them back it, at my own expense too, and have them fix whateva is wrong w/ it but I don't know if they'll think I tampered w/ it which I did not. I also installed ToxicBIOS 1.3 hoping that will cure whateva is wrong w/ the PS2 but it doesn't help. I still can't boot up back ups and originals majority fo the time. I have to literally reset about 5 - 10 times before it boots any game successfully and sometimes after that, the game stutters and lags. On their site, they stated it will be a V13 PS2 and I also got the Comsoft V4 laser fix for $8 more just in case.
Does anyone have any idea of what I can do to fix this? I know xmodd is going to give me a hard time about it and if they do agree to take a look at it, they might say I tampered w/ it because of the warranty sticker. I purchased from xmodd.com because it was recommended in this forum but I guess i'm one of the few who aren't getting their money's worth. I will email them and see what they say. I will also rate them in resellerratings.com after this mess is cleared up, or lackthereof. Will post their reply here when I get it... but I suggest people stay away from them and just go to a local video game shop who does mods, should be a lot easier to deal w/... :T
