hey, everyone. i've (successfully?) burned my first dl using decrypter. tested it on my player & it seemed to work well. while watching the entire movie it paused & just seemed to hang on a particular part. i'm not sure but i'm assuming this is the layer break. the scan & play buttons don't seem to work so i just clicked on to the next chapter & no more problems since.
while setting up preferences in decrypter i clicked on "automatic" for the layer break (not "custom"). did i miss something in the ripping/burning process or should i blame a finicky player (philips dvp-642)?

I'm not positive on this because I've never messed with DL DVDR yet, but I'm thinking it's the media. Try it in other DVD players to see if you get the same results. Maybe try a different brand of discs (not Memorex though, those are only good for trap-shooting and setting your drink on).

VeeRoost,

I had the same problem last night on the Philips 642. Did you ever figure out what the cause was with this issue?

Presently most DL are in +R & most drives can only write +R DL & not all players can play this type of media. My Samsung can played my DL from Verbatim, Ritek & Mitsubishi but my Shinco can't play the Ritek disks.
